Sarah Messina is a queer freelance multidisciplinary artist, designer, teacher and event coordinator living and working in Philadelphia, PA. Sarah has spent the last 15 years growing her career specializing in a wide-range of print and web projects that include illustration, graphic design and social media management and event production. Sarah has partnered with a wide range of clients and focuses on working with small businesses, brands and media companies that invoke drive and impactful ideals that align with her own.
Along with managing multiple projects, Sarah owns an online shop which includes one-of-a-kind items such has handmade and painted ceramics, prints, stickers, hand painted tote bags, hand sewn art journals, pins and much more.
Sarah was diagnosed at 32 years old with and early stage breast cancer - IDC, ER+, PR+, HER2- with additional breast calcifications that led to having a double mastectomy. She hopes to inspire other young women through the honest and raw telling of her own story. Sarah recently launched The Creative Self Project, a support group that allows young breast cancer survivors to tap into their creativity during any point in their cancer journey.
